Product Reviews
I just purchased these tires about a month ago. So far so good. Very reasonably priced!
I purchased my Hercules Tour 4.0 Plus all season, 195/70R/14 91T tires. This tire has a treadwear rating of 540, with a 55,000 mile warranty, with a Traction rating of A, and Temperature rating of A. The number and type of plies for the tire are as follows....Tread: 2 polyester, 2 steel, and a nylon cap, wilth silica compounds for enhanced wet traction.....Sidewall: 2 polyester plies. Initial tread depth was 10/32 inches, which is average, with longest lasting tires of this size having tread depths of 11/32 and 12/32 inches. Weight of each tire is 22 pounds, which is higher than average accounting for slightly higher rolling resistance which diminished my overall fuel economy by 2 miles per gallon or so as compared to my previously balding tires, from 31 to 29 mph in mixed driving, but with more highway miles. As of June 12, 2012, I’ve put 12,521 miles on these tires over 215 days on a 2000 Toyota Camry CD. Tread depth is currently at 7/32 on all 4 tires as I’ve twice rotated my tires at the 5,000 mile interval as recommended. This projects that my tires will be at the worn out mark of 2/32 after 33,389 miles and 573 days after purchase. As I do like the grip and feel of these tires while driving, I intend to get another set of these. Overall, this tire has been a smooth performer, with no noticeable vibrations up to the 94 mph. I’ve briefly touched a few times on them, with regularly setting my cruise control at 74 mph, or 9 over the limit when I’m on the highway. In snowy and wet conditions, I’ve been very pleased with the performance of these tires as well. Overall, I drive moderately aggressive, so my wear is going to be somewhat higher than average. I’d give these a solid 8.5 out of 10 overall....good tire!
